Rep. Paul Gosar shared white nationalist screed asking if Americans will be replaced with “foreigners who are more violent or less capable”

Paul Gosar on the Stew Peters Show

Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) recently forwarded a message to his congressional email list from a right-wing commentator who stated that the country will suffer “if America replaces its existing population with foreigners who are more violent or less capable” and that “diversity isn’t America’s strength.” Gosar has also been using his list to promote a white nationalist website which warns that Haitians are purportedly “coming here to invade our country.”

Gosar has a long history of promoting white nationalist and other extremist content. In November, he was censured and stripped of his committee assignments after he tweeted an anime video of him killing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and swinging swords at President Joe Biden.

In a January 9 email sent from his House of Representatives office, Gosar shared “A Message from Stew Peters and Red Voice Media.” Peters is a right-wing conspiracy theorist who hosts an online program that counts Gosar as a repeat guest

The message states, in part, “If America replaces its existing population with foreigners who are more violent or less capable, then this country will suffer,” and “Diversity isn’t America’s strength, and if managed incorrectly, it can actually be its crippling weakness.” The message concluded that the American people “deserve to be protected from a globalist elite that hates them and wants them humiliated or destroyed and replaced or dead.”

The full message reads:

America is real. It’s not some melting pot or just some arbitrary borders with a random collection of world travelers just dumped into it. America is a real nation with a real historic identity, founding principles, philosophies, values, aesthetics.

Demographics are destiny. Human beings are different from each other, and it doesn’t help anyone to lie about it and pretend that everything is a social construct.

If America replaces its existing population with foreigners who are more violent or less capable, then this country will suffer. I don’t know why that’s so hard for people to grasp. It’s really quite simple.

America has a cultural identity that’s legitimate and worthy of defending. Diversity isn’t America’s strength, and if managed incorrectly, it can actually be its crippling weakness. America’s strength is its bedrock: the American people. And these people deserve to be protected from a globalist elite that hates them and wants them humiliated or destroyed and replaced or dead.

Peters’ message echoes the white supremacist “great replacement” conspiracy theory, which is increasingly popular among many right-wing media figures

Peters’ previously made those remarks in a segment defending the white nationalist website VDare. The right-wing commentator also posted the message on Gab, the social media platform that’s popular with white supremacists and antisemites

Gosar has also been using his House email list to promote the work of the white nationalist website Daily Veracity. That website is run by Vincent James Foxx, a racist and antisemitic commentator. Foxx previously oversaw The Red Elephants, a white nationalist publication that also posted antisemitic content such as a list featuring “Jews at the top in media.”

Daily Veracity frequently promotes white nationalist content, as Media Matters previously documented. Headlines on the site include “Black Americans Most Likely to Commit Hate Crimes, Join Hate Groups, and Commit Interracial Attacks. Here are the Numbers”; “You Can’t Support Black Lives Matter and Also Support Science”; “Yes, You Are Being Replaced”; and “White People Were the First to End Slavery, and Nowhere Near the Biggest Slavers.” It also promotes white nationalist outlets like VDare, American Renaissance, and Red Ice TV

Gosar has promoted seven links to Daily Veracity in six emails since September 2021.

On September 19, Gosar wrote: “Daily Veracity: Over 20,000 illegal aliens from Haiti are currently being let in by Biden at the border in Texas in a mass invasion. Read here.” Similarly, on October 3, Gosar wrote: “Daily Veracity, 50,000 More Haitians Coming Here to Invade Our Country.”

On September 27, Gosar linked to two Daily Veracity posts, writing: “Daily Veracity, Female U.S. Soldier Raped by New Afghan ‘Refugees’” and “Daily Veracity, Biden Dropping of Illegal Alien Haitians At Random Towns.”

Gosar also linked to Daily Veracity three times related to COVID-19. He wrote of those links: “Daily Veracity, Sweden, Denmark Pause COVID Vaccines for Young People Due to High Risk of Heart Inflammation”; “The Daily Veracity: Vitamin D Treats Long Covid”; and “Daily Veracity, Vaccine Causing Spontaneous Abortions in Pregnant Women.” USA Today wrote last month that there’s “no evidence Pfizer, Moderna COVID-19 vaccines cause miscarriage.”

Gosar has also promoted Daily Veracity on his Twitter account.
