Fox & Friends: DACA and Temporary Protected Status recipients are bargaining chips for Trump to use

Steve Doocy: “Yesterday he actually gave himself another bargaining chip [for the border wall] because he ended the special protection for people from El Salvador … that will be another bargaining chip just like the president made DACA back in Septem

BRIAN KILMEADE (CO-HOST):  I remember about eight -- when this last time they had this thing, and the president said all right, I’ll postpone building the wall, he was really -- I sense that he really feels as though he might have made the wrong decision there, and now I don't see any give because he's got to get this done. Not only because it's a promise, I think he sees the problem and understands the hypocrisy because he knows where Democrats have stood in the past.

STEVE DOOCY (CO-HOST): Well, people want us to have a secure border. And yesterday he actually gave himself another bargaining chip, because he ended the special protection for people from El Salvador. Back in 2001 after that terrible earthquake down there, the federal government provided a couple hundred thousand to live here in the United States, but yesterday the new Department of Homeland Security secretary said it's been 15 years, they've rebuilt, they can go home now. Nonetheless, that will be another bargaining chip, just like the president made DACA back in September.

KILMEADE: That's what happens when you don’t have massive -- the right immigration reform. You do this whole thing piecemeal through executive order, and it makes nobody happy.

DOOCY: It doesn't. That's why this president has said if the Democrats are serious about getting something done, let's do it. No hurry. We can do it by March.

AINSLEY EARHARDT (CO-HOST): I don't think it's about separating families. I think it's just about keeping our country safe, it’s about patriotism, keeping drugs outside of the United States and keeping people, tax-paying citizens -- it's not fair for people to work hard, to go to work every single day to put food on the table of other people who are getting a pass and living here for free.
