Hosts of a popular Miami-based radio show, Cada Tarde, have recently ramped up their criticism of the Trump administration’s deportation tactics and policies. Agustín Acosta and Carlos Acosta have accused Trump administration officials like Stephen Miller and Kristi Noem of “anti-Hispanic racism,” claimed they are causing “incalculable damage to President Donald Trump,” and warned that Republicans risk losing the midterm elections due to the administration’s draconian approach to immigration enforcement.

Cada Tarde on Actualidad Radio is one of the flagship programs of one of the most-listened to news radio stations in the South Florida market. Recently, the hosts have voiced their opposition to Trump's mass deportation initiatives after reports surfaced that legal immigrants were being targeted for deportation. This included a record number of Cubans — a group that had “benefited from legal privileges unavailable to immigrants from other countries” — as well as people with temporary protected status, particularly Venezuelans.
While criticizing the administration’s immigration tactics as a whole, hosts also singled out specific figures in the administration, such as Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, homeland security adviser Stephen Miller, border czar Tom Homan, and Border Patrol leader Greg Bovino.
A January New York Times study of federal data indicates that 540,000 deportations have occurred since Trump assumed office. Data on Immigration and Customs Enforcement apprehensions during Trump’s first year indicate that nearly 40% of those arrested had no criminal record, and “less than 14% of those arrested by ICE in Trump's 1st year back in office had violent criminal records.” This is contrary to Trump and top officials' statements that they would target gang members, murderers, and rapists.
Polls indicate that U.S. Latinos are dissatisfied with the administration's immigration policies, especially deportations. This trend has continued, and Hispanic voters across the political spectrum have become even more disgruntled with ICE.

Hosts criticized the administration’s approach to deportations as “racist” and “uninformed,” accusing top officials of doing “immeasurable” damage to Trump
-
- Carlos Acosta: “The migration issue is being handled, as we have said on other occasions, by some people in this administration in such a way that is even racist.” He also added that “the Pope has made a fair criticism” in his comments on the treatment of immigrants in the United States. [Actualidad Radio, Cada Tarde, 11/19/25]
- Carlos Acosta said that Kristi Noem has been “a little excessive,” and “I would even say uninformed." Agustín Acosta added that Noem “does not seem to understand how federal laws work.” [Actualidad Radio, Cada Tarde, 1/20/26]
- Agustín Acosta claimed Noem “appears to be acting either with severe racism, or with a tremendous intellectual myopia that is reckless and dangerous.” He also said someone needs to “stop her right now” before going on to highlight the immigrant backgrounds of Stephen Miller, Marco Rubio, and Donald Trump and his spouses, telling Noem, “Ma’am, be very careful with your tongue.” Carlos Acosta also claimed a source within the Republican Party said to him about Noem, “You have to be very careful with what this woman does and says, because she was governor of a state where there are more buffaloes than voters." [Actualidad Radio, Cada Tarde, 12/3/25]
- Agustín Acosta said “the way that immigration raids are being carried out” is “totally inappropriate.” He noted that American citizens have been targeted, saying, “That cannot be allowed. We have to criticize it, whether you like it or not.” [Actualidad Radio, Cada Tarde, 11/19/25]
- Agustín Acosta said that there have been “too many inaccuracies … especially with U.S. citizens” in the administration’s mass deportation campaign. He went on to say, “There are many other cases of American citizens who have been imprisoned, some of them have been held for several days until it has been proven that they were indeed U.S. citizens.” Regarding new ICE powers to “search homes without warrants,” he said, “I have never heard anything like that in my life.” [Actualidad Radio, Cada Tarde, 1/22/26]
- Agustín Acosta said that “there is an element of racism in three or four people, and I am going to mention them. Stephen Miller, Mr. Homan, Mrs. Noem, and Mr. Deputy Director of Patrol, I think the last name is Bonino, something like that.” He also said he “cannot accept” the way ICE detentions have been proceeding, saying, “I did not vote for that, nor conceive that an American citizen should be run over, have his rights violated, be dragged by the hair, be taken naked to a police station when it is zero degrees, and then, that day or three or four days later, say, 'Oops, we made a mistake.'” He added, “People who are American citizens have been deported and then had to be sent back. … Another person had their ribs broken.” [Actualidad Radio, Cada Tarde, 1/20/26]
- Agustín Acosta said, “American citizens … have been run over and imprisoned for days until it was proven they were American citizens born in this country,” adding that Noem and Miller are ultimately the ones to blame. Acosta claimed that Noem and Miller have “an element of anti-Hispanic racism in them, most of all in the case of Stephen Miller, who is the man who whispers in the ear of Mr. Donald Trump.” [Actualidad Radio, Cada Tarde, 1/27/26]
- Agustín Acosta said, “There are over 200 American citizens who have been arrested, detained, some of whom have been mistreated with broken bones and things like that. American citizens who have been arrested by mistake, and nobody has apologized to them.” He said it was Noem and Miller who have “brought Trump this headache,” and guest Armando Guzman added that Trump’s “winning issue has turned into his worst nightmare.” [Actualidad Radio, Cada Tarde, 2/12/26]
- While discussing the shooting of Alex Pretti, Agustín Acosta attacked “the stubbornness of the DHS secretary, who is doing incalculable damage to President Donald Trump.” He added, “This woman, from the very start, instead of adopting a prudent attitude by announcing an investigation, as is always done when the police kill someone … took up the task of defaming the dead person, and it turns out the dead person is a man, or rather was a man, who was a nurse at a VA hospital.” Carlos agreed, saying that giving her the DHS role was “a consolation prize” for not being selected as vice president, but that she has handled the role “very, very poorly.” [Actualidad Radio, Cada Tarde, 1/26/26]
- Agustín Acosta said that the damage that Bovino and Noem “have done to President Trump and the Republican Party is immeasurable.” He added, “The Democrats will turn it into the issue of the election. It won’t be about the economy anymore this year, which is fortunately improving. … Now Democrats and the liberal media will take up the task of portraying this as a threat to civil and constitutional liberties.” [Actualidad Radio, Cada Tarde, 1/26/26]
- Agustín Acosta praised two Florida senators for blocking funds to Noem, saying they did so because “there is a foundational problem that, if not solved, will cause the loss of Congress in November.” He claimed, “Here is a life or death situation for the Republican Party.” [Actualidad Radio, Cada Tarde, 1/29/26]
