Richard Haass is the current president of the Council on Foreign Relations. He previously served as an adviser to former Secretary of State Colin Powell, and as the U.S. Special Envoy for Northern Ireland. Haass has advised both Republican and Democratic politicians on foreign policy issues and is a regular panelist on MSNBC’s Morning Joe.
