ROB FINNERTY (HOST): OK, did you see this post right here? The now-deleted Donald Trump post that he shared on Truth Social of Trump seemingly dressed as Jesus healing someone. The picture with eagles flying in the background. There's the Statue of Liberty and that — this strange being, I don't know if we can cue it up again. There it is, right above Trump's head with three what looked like horns. I don't know what that is. I don't know what that's supposed to be. But someone apparently sent this to Trump and then he shared it. And then he — this whole thing offended people, evidently. So then he deleted it. And then he explained what it was yesterday.
[CLIP BEGINS]
DONALD TRUMP: I did post it, and I thought it was me as a doctor and had to do with Red Cross as a Red Cross worker there, which we support. And only the fake news could come up with that one. So I had — I'd just heard about it. And I said, how did they come up with that? It's supposed to be me as a doctor making people better, and I do make people better. I make people a lot better.
[CLIP ENDS]
FINNERTY: And, I just want the president to know, like, I don't care about this. And I think a lot of people don't care. Guess what? That's Donald Trump. I'll take it over Joe Biden. I'm a Catholic. When I saw this on Sunday, I kept scrolling. I went right by it because I don't get bothered by what Donald Trump posts on social media, because there's a big difference between what he posts and what he actually does. And I'm more interested in what Trump does.
The other part of this story is the one that Donald Trump, just out of the blue, attacked the pope, which is not what happened. But here's the headline — Trump attacks Pope Leo, when in reality, Donald Trump just responded to what the pope said about him. Pope Leo, who took over for Pope Francis, both definitely on the left politically. I think that's fair to say. And don't you think it's interesting that the pope started criticizing Donald Trump after meeting with former Obama advisor David Axelrod, who's from Chicago, just like the Pope, just like Barack. And don't you think it's interesting that three Cardinals then appeared on 60 Minutes right on cue after that to criticize Trump immigration policy. And do you think that maybe this might be more about trying to convince Catholics to turn against Republicans before the midterms in November? We think it is.
...
FINNERTY: No, it's the arrest of people who have no legal right to be here, father. Three cardinals who are pro-immigration, all Democrat talking points. No mention of the 400,000 missing children under Joe Biden. No mention of the innocent American women who keep getting killed by illegal aliens, including Sheridan Gorman, the 18-year-old who was murdered in Chicago. That's the pope's hometown.
