On the July 26 broadcast of Newsradio 850 KOA's The Gunny Bob Show, host “Gunny” Bob Newman predicted that "[i]f the liberals seize control of the House, the Senate, the Congress, the White House -- and if the Supreme Court tips further to the left -- this nation will see gay marriage, soon to be followed by legalized polygamy and possibly human/fur-bearing-mammal marriages." Newman added: “You know, like with a mink or something like that. I don't really know. They're soft and cuddly creatures, but they also bite.”

NEWMAN: Speaking of commies, the liberals continue to push for same-sex marriage. Now look, I'm for gay rights up to civil unions, to be used for legal protections. But I draw the line at gay marriage. I say no. That is frankly, and to me -- this is just my own opinion for you here -- it's an affront to God and it's an affront to the institution itself. Civil union for you and your partner to be protected? I don't care, that doesn't affect me. Marriage does. Well, the Washington state Supreme Court today, in a 5-to-4 vote -- by one vote -- voted to protect marriage, the way it's supposed to be. If the liberals seize control of the House, the Senate, the Congress, the White House -- and if the Supreme Court tips further to the left -- this nation will see gay marriage, soon to be followed by legalized polygamy and possibly human/fur-bearing-mammal marriages.
