Formerly a Washington Post reporter, then executive editor for the right-wing Washington Times and a reporter at Sinclair Broadcasting Group's Circa, John Solomon wrote misleading opinion pieces criticizing the special counsel's probe into President Donald Trump at The Hill, where he was also its executive vice president for video. Solomon's opinion pieces were often promoted by Trump allies such as Sean Hannity. During Trump's impeachment, multiple witnesses harshly criticized Solomon's work as being part of a right-wing propaganda campaign with the goal of advancing a fabricated story intended to blow up the 2020 presidential election. Solomon left The Hill in 2019 and subsequently founded Just The News, where he is editor-in-chief. He was announced as a Fox News contributor in October 2019; in November 2020 he reportedly left the network.
