Key Trump officials appeared on Fox networks more than 1,300 times in the first 300 days of his second term

Key officials in President Donald Trump’s second administration appeared on Fox networks over 1,300 times during his first 300 days back in office. Trump “border czar” Tom Homan led all officials with at least 133 appearances, while Fox News' Hannity led shows in airing the most appearances by Trump officials, with at least 158 interviews. Trump officials appeared on Fox networks on 290 (97%) of the administration's first 300 days.

  • Key Trump administration officials appeared at least 1,361 times on Fox networks

  • Media Matters looked at Fox appearances by key nominated or confirmed Trump officials during the administration’s first 300 days. Trump's “border czar” Homan remained the most prominent administration official on the networks, appearing at least 133 times in total (he had logged 59 appearances when we assessed the first 100 days). White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller (82 appearances), National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett (75), and Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin (74) followed. Trump himself has appeared on Fox News at least 26 times.

  • Fox shows are a trusted platform for Trump administration interviews

  • Hannity far outpaced all other Fox shows, with at least 158 appearances by key Trump officials. At least 23 unique Trump officials appeared on the show, led by Miller (35 appearances), Homan (21), and White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt (16).

Prime-time host Sean Hannity consistently served as a loyal booster for both his guests and the Trump White House, dedicating an entire section of his recent interview with Vice President JD Vance to praising the president’s “discernment” and claiming Trump’s energy levels are “beyond.”

From the November 13, 2025, edition of Fox News' Hannity.

  • After Hannity, The Ingraham Angle had the most appearances (121 appearances), followed by Fox & Friends (111). In total, 436 (45%) of the 959 officials’ appearances on Fox News were on the network's evening programming (shows starting between 6 p.m. ET and 11 p.m. ET). Meanwhile, 587 (61%) of the appearances were on Fox News' opinion shows rather than the network’s supposed “news side.”

On Fox Business, Mornings with Maria Bartiromo (128 appearances), Kudlow (103), and Varney & Co. (76) featured the most appearances by key Trump officials. Fox Business served as a pliant venue for Trump's economic messaging, providing officials with a sympathetic platform to defend the administration's controversial and chaotic economic moves.

  • Former Fox employees who are now administration officials appeared at least 315 times

  • Several of the Trump officials featured on the Fox networks were also former Fox employees: former contributor Homan (133 appearances); former host-turned-Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy (65); former contributor-turned-FDA Commissioner Marty Makary (38); former contributor and White House national security adviser-turned-Ambassador to the United Nations Michael Waltz (28); former contributor-turned-Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard (27); and former Fox & Friends Weekend co-host-turned-Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth (24). In total, nearly a quarter (23%) of all key Trump official interviews across the two networks came from these 6 former Fox employees.

(Trump has tapped many other former Fox employees to be part of his second administration as well.)

We included guest segments, which we defined as instances when Fox Business or Fox News hosted any key member of the Trump administration (including nominees) on one of their shows. Their appearances could be as solo interviews or as a part of panels.
