The incendiary and demonizing chyrons on Fox News evening programming regarding Minnesota, ICE, and protests

After Fox News pushed the Trump administration’s propaganda in its coverage of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent’s deadly January 7 shooting of Renee Good in Minneapolis, the network has used its chyrons during the ensuing protests to demonize demonstrators, accuse Democratic officials of inciting violence, and declare “Dems at war with America itself.” Fox’s characterization of the protests serves to suggest a pretext for President Donald Trump to invoke the Insurrection Act, which he threatened to do in a January 15 Truth Social post.
