BRET BAIER (CO-ANCHOR): So it's a common theme about attacks from the left. What do you make about his chances?
MARC THIESSEN (FOX NEWS CONTRIBUTOR): I think Scott would probably put that in an ad for his campaign. I mean, look, he's got a great chance, we've got a great field coming out here. And really what's happening is there are really two Republican primaries taking place. There's a Republican primary for the nomination but there's also a Republican primary to challenge Donald Trump, to be the one. And what's going to have to happen is all these contenders are going to have to come together and make the case “I'm the best person to be the alternative to Trump." And it's great, the more people get in the better. The difference between this and previous years is got to be that those, if you don't catch a wave you gotta get out soon.
BAIER: Well wait a second, the more people get in the better? I mean, there are a lot of people who look at it and say “the more people that get in, it dilutes the not-Trump runners."
THIESSEN: Yeah, if they stay in without any evidence. So, I mean, I think, I just believe in a democracy, everybody who thinks they've got a shot, should give it a shot. I think that we have a responsibility as a party to make sure that if you don't catch a wave and you're polling at five percent or three percent, you got to get out. This has got to be a one-on-one competition otherwise Trump will win by a plurality like he did in 2016.
