Fox Pushes Benghazi Lies After Congressional Report Shows No Wrongdoing By Clinton

Melissa Francis, Catherine Herridge Push Falsehoods That Obama, Clinton Were Unaccounted For During Benghazi Attacks

Fox News' Catherine Herridge alleged that it is “largely unknown” what President Obama was doing the night of the Benghazi terrorist attacks, and Melissa Francis pushed the debunked falsehood that then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton “went home that night and went to bed.” In fact, news reports and congressional testimony have both shown that both Obama and Clinton were active and engaged while the Benghazi attack was taking place. From the June 27 edition of Fox News' Outnumbered:

CATHERINE HERRIDGE: Within the last hour the Democrats have released their version of the Benghazi Select Committee. Their finding is that there's really nothing new here and that everyone needs to keep driving. Though what we anticipate as early as tomorrow is we'll have the Republicans' version of that report and the full transcripts of the more than three dozen witnesses who had never been interviewed by any other panel.

HERRIDGE: What we know through our reporting is that sort of critical window on the night of the attack, it's really been largely unknown what the president was doing that evening.

HARRIS FAULKNER (CO-HOST): Yes.

[...]

MELISSA FRANCIS (CO-HOST): Hillary Clinton went home that night and went to bed. That is the point that Donald Trump made. Ambassador Bolton said he never worked for anyone who did that and would've let him hang out there and die. It really says a lot.
