Candace Owens takes fat people's existence very personally

Far-right commentator Candace Owens frequently insults fat people and degrades women based on their appearances. She appears to be very sensitive to people who do not conform to traditional expectations of what she believes bodies should look like and how people dress them. On her YouTube show for right-wing propaganda outlet PragerU and The Daily Wire, Owens said, “When I see a fat person modeling on Instagram and saying ‘fat acceptance,’ that makes me angry,” and asked, “Why can’t you come out and say I don’t believe that people should be fat?”

Owens’ fatphobia is not limited to her presence on YouTube.

In a video posted to her Instagram account under the heading “It’s okay to be normal,” Owens stated her opposition to the fat acceptance movement and said she “could not disagree with that more” because she is “so sick of women putting their cellulite on the internet.” She also complained about “the spectrum of freaks and people like Lena Dunham who constantly want to show you their fat rolls and cellulite.”

She has tweeted about how her fatphobia makes it difficult for her to use airplanes. She apparently complained to the pilot about it.

She has also used her fears to attack public health measures during the coronavirus pandemic and to push her anti-choice stances.

When Cosmopolitan magazine featured two plus-sized influencers on the cover in January, she expressed her anger on Twitter.

In general, body positivity is very upsetting to Candace Owens.
