This is getting to be a bit much

We understand the media's Clinton convention tension story that's been rolled out this week was a pre-scheduled event, and that Obama and Clinton could have exchange bouquets in public today and the press was going to run with this story because they've been looking forward to it for weeks, if not months.

It's just that the press really does to seem to be grasping at straws in order to keep this narrative afloat. Check out washingtonpost.com's The Trail and its breathless item, “Clinton Advisers Skipping Obama Speech,” in which we learn the breaking news that out of the tens of thousands of people coming and going from Denver this week for the convention, Terry McAuliffe, Steve Rattner and Maureen White won't be in town come Thursday night.

Folks, that's Very Important News. Just trust the Post.
