DAGEN MCDOWELL (GUEST HOST): Could this be a false flag? Some kind of, I don't want to say marginal, but I think rogue elements in the Iranian regime might be how you would phrase it.

KIRK LIPPOLD (FORMER COMMANDER, USS COLE): Well, I would look at it this way: Given how Iran runs, how can you have a false flag operation when they have engaged in this type of activity literally for decades? So if this is going on within Iran, this is clearly because you have mullahs that are interior to Iran that are causing this problem to exist. So false flag, like in other countries, Saudi Arabia or others, I don't buy into that. And I think if Iran's got an internal problem, well I'd advise them to start figuring out who's behind it and how to get it fixed. Because they're the ones that are creating this problem in an international waterway where, clearly, a large chunk of the world's oil goes through there.
