Fox Business host likens San Francisco allowing noncitizen residents to vote in school board election to Russia's election meddling for Trump

Stuart Varney: “How is that for foreign influence? Is it a form of election meddling? Think of this, a Russian could influence education policy in San Francisco just by being there”

STUART VARNEY (HOST): I started work in television in the mid '70s in San Francisco. I was a legal immigrant, green card, not yet a citizen. I knew I couldn't vote, not allowed. I never even thought about it. My, how times change.

Today in San Francisco, foreign nationals, even if they're here illegally, can vote in school board elections. They don't have to say how long they have been there. Actually, they don't have to say anything, just front up and vote. How is that for foreign influence? Is it a form of election meddling? Think of this, a Russian could influence education policy in San Francisco just by being there. If that is not accurate, I invite viewer comment.

The left defends this, saying if you are subject to the law, you should be allowed to vote. Of course if you disagree, you are suppressing the vote, of course. The left also wants to abolish immigration enforcement, ICE. Anyone can come in. Couple that with this anyone can vote rule, and you've got a perversion of the political system, if not an outright takeover. By the way, illegals have voting rights in Maryland, too.

You could dismiss this as just isolated stuff of no relevance. I disagree. This is the opening of an attack on our democracy as we know it. Hey, if illegals can vote for the school board, why can't they vote for a senator, or a president? That's where the left wants to take this. Suppose illegals in San Francisco were Republicans and voted for more charter schools or an end to bilingual education. Do you really think they would be allowed to vote? It would never happen. And if illegals were Republicans, it would be the Democrats demanding a wall. Russian election meddling is front page news. Why not put illegals voting in San Francisco on the front page too?
