Tucker Carlson gave an interview to a college student. Now, that student is organizing “Students for Ye,” a group promoted by white nationalists

In July, Fox News host Tucker Carlson gave an interview to college student and right-wing writer Daniel Schmidt. Now, Schmidt is organizing “Students for Ye,” a grassroots group created to support rapper Ye’s (formerly Kanye West) potential campaign for president. The group is being promoted by notorious white nationalist and Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes

Ye has recently went on unhinged pro-Nazi rants on right-wing media, during which he has denied the Holocaust and praised Nazis and Adolf Hitler.

Schmidt hosted a “students for Ye” Twitter space on December 14.

Fuentes, who is reportedly working for Ye, promoted the group on his Telegram account:

“Stop the Steal” organizer Ali Alexander, who has made antisemitic comments, also praised Schmidt’s work.

Additionally, “Students for Ye” is recruiting students to volunteer on social media, including Instagram, Twitter, Telegram, and Fuentes’ streaming platform Cozy.tv

It’s unclear why Carlson gave an interview to a college student in July. Based on reporting and available tweets, the interview covered some strange topics, including, but not limited to: dropping out of college, attacking feminism, porn, OnlyFans, the struggles of white men, “anti-white sentiment,” and having children.

In one segment of the interview, Carlson gave Schmidt bizarre life advice about dating, marriage, and sex.

“This whole idea that like, you know, banging 40 people in your 20s is like, a net positive, or something? It’s like not even that fun,” Carlson told Schmidt.

According to a Crooks and Liars report from July, Schmidt's LinkedIn page indicates he has “written for some right-wing sites, including the Daily Wire, Epoch Times, and The Daily Caller.” The Daily Caller, founded by Tucker Carlson, has a history of publishing white supremacists, anti-Semites, and bigots.
