TIM POOL (HOST): Star Tribune reports, President Donald Trump is deploying his border czar to Minneapolis as a political crisis grows over his admin's immigration enforcement tactics, a move many Republicans view as an effort to calm tensions in Minnesota. The news came on Monday, January 26, the same day Tim Walz and Jacob Frey spoke to Trump with all three reporting productive conversations. Walz and Trump discussed the possibility of reducing the number of agents in Minnesota, and Frey said after his call that some federal agents would begin leaving on Tuesday. Trump got a call from the leaders of the insurgency, and he said, please, please, I'll do anything you say. How pathetic. Listen. Walz and Frey are cheering on violent rioters smashing up hotels, bashing feds in the face, and Trump's like, I better back down. He did it in 2020. He's doing it again because Trump is a weak old man.
And look, 2016, you know what I said? You know what's funny? I said, he's too brash. He lacks decorum. He is not a decisive, stand up guy. He's an aggressive guy. But I understand why people wanted it. Well, this time around, I said he seems to have moderated. He's chilled out a bit. I think that what's happened is he's actually grown tired, and he can't handle this. He just can't. Now to be fair, I gotta cut him some slack. I'm largely just being emotional. Fair point. Gotta cut him some slack because Rome wasn't built in a day, and you can't resolve all of the crises affecting this country overnight, especially when the issue with Don Lemon was that a judge blocked the DOJ's efforts. But come on. Come on. It's just -- if you lost, you lost. OK, Trump? If you lost, you lost. I'd respect him more if he came out and said we are paralyzed and incapable of doing anything. I respect that more. All we see is Trump not taking it seriously. Because this, all of this, has been miserably bad. The people around him, once again, miserably bad. And I am shocked to see open insurgency in in the state and Trump basically saying, we're gonna reduce reduce our footprint here. We're gonna back away. Not today.
