MARIA BARTIROMO (HOST): Well, look, Peter Navarro was with us yesterday, we were talking about trade. He told us look, when it comes to jobs going forward, tick your expectations down, watch this.

PETER NAVARRO (WHITE HOUSE SENIOR COUNSELOR): The jobs report's going to come out. We have to revise our expectations down significantly for what a monthly job number should look like. When we were letting in two million illegal aliens, just coming in, coming in, we had to produce 200,000 jobs a month for steady state. And by the way, all of the jobs that we were creating in Biden years were going to illegals, Americans were going to the unemployment lines. That's totally reversed, and now, 50,000 a month is going to be more like what we need.
BARTIROMO: You're expecting a weak number.
NAVARRO: No. Not expecting a weak number. I'm just saying that going forward, when we see a number under 100,000, we don't wring our hands. We say, yeah, that's going to be steady state.
[END VIDEO]
BARTIROMO: Reaction, Steve?
STEPHEN MOORE (FORMER TRUMP ECONOMIC ADVISER): Well, look, I don't entirely agree with him. I mean, the big picture about what's happening to America demographically is very simple; 11,000 Baby Boomers are retiring every day, and only 8,000 Americans are entering the work force. So, we definitely want to keep the illegal immigrants out, but we're going to need more legal immigrants, clearly, to fill the job demand.
