Watch: Sinclair personalities push anti-impeachment propaganda

For the second straight week, Sinclair Broadcast Group’s main conservative personalities, Boris Epshteyn and Eric Bolling, have been producing programming akin to state propaganda on the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump.

Epshteyn and Bolling have been using their Sinclair platforms to defend Trump’s solicitation of foreign help to investigate his potential 2020 political rival Joe Biden; dismiss the substance of both the inquiry and the whistleblower complaint that spurred it; push misinformation and lies about the inquiry; and attack Democrats leading the effort. Bolling has also hosted allies of the president to bolster these arguments.

In the days after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) first announced the formal inquiry, Epshteyn, Sinclair’s chief political commentator, produced a “must-run” segment that included a laundry list of right-wing defenses and talking points related to the probe. Bolling, Sinclair’s senior political anchor, also devoted the majority of his weekly Sinclair show to pushing pro-Trump narratives about the story. Guests on his show included multiple members of the Trump inner circle: former confidant Roger Stone, former strategist Steve Bannon, former aide Sebastian Gorka, and Trump reelection campaign official Marc Lotter.

This week, the two pundits are at it again, inundating local news viewers across the country with more of the same pro-Trump talking points. Bolling even interviewed Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani -- who himself is getting increasingly implicated in the inquiry -- as well as discredited conservative author Peter Schweizer, a major player in the right’s attempt to redirect the story to attack Biden, among others.
