ANDREW MCCARTHY (FOX NEWS CONTRIBUTOR): Sandra, I think that, at this point, we have to conclude that this is just a setup in which the Democrats have abused the process. I don't mean to demean what happened to Dr. [Christine Blasey] Ford, if anything did. But, in general, in this country, what happens is the accused is not the one who has the burden of establishing that something terrible happened. So here we have one person who says something bad happened when she was 15, but she can't place it in time and place, yet we're supposed to believe that she precisely remembers that Kavanaugh is the assailant when she can't even say where the assault took place.

And, on the other hand you have Kavanaugh, who, we not only have a rich record of people who've testified about his character and his treatment of women to a rich, rich extent, but he, despite not having any obligation to do so, has proclaimed his innocence. He hasn't just said, “They don't have enough evidence to show I'm guilty.” He said, “I am innocent.”
