Ads for Netflix are appearing next to Holocaust denial videos on Rumble

Update (3/15/23): Following the publication of this article, Forward’s Adam Kovac reported that ads for Netflix “were no longer appearing on the site. A Netflix spokesperson declined to comment.” He also noted: “When the Forward sent links to some of the Holocaust denial videos, a Rumble spokesperson replied, saying one of the videos had already been removed and 'the other video and channel have been disabled for violating our content policies.'”

Advertisements for Netflix have been appearing on Holocaust denial videos on the video-sharing platform Rumble. The ads should serve as a reminder to advertisers that Rumble, a publicly traded company, is a cesspool of hate and bigotry.

Rumble is heavily populated by far-fight figures, and while it claims to have “strict policies” against antisemitism, the site has not taken down numerous videos promoting Holocaust denial. Media Matters reviewed many of those videos and found that several Holocaust-denial videos featured advertisements for Netflix.shop. Here are some examples:

Rumble video: “HOLOCAUST HOLES.”

Rumble video: “US Army PROOF of hollow hoax Jews were not targeted or slaughtered...Hitler Trump Biden Putin Russia Q.”

Rumble video: “Did The Holocaust Really Happen?” The description of the video, which features antisemite Steven L. Anderson, claims: “The Holocaust Deprogramming Course is a comprehensive list of the main body of factual arguments refuting the alleged Jewish Holocaust of World War II; as well as video documentaries, books and technical reports. With an open mind and basic critical thinking skills anyone who works their way through this list can not come away still believing the fictional Holocaust narrative that millions of Jews were exterminated in gas chambers using Zyklon-B.”

Rumble is not the only platform where companies risk having their ads appear next to antisemitic content. Following Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter, Media Matters found that ads for companies including The Wall Street Journal, Nokia, FanDuel, and Thermo Fisher have been appearing on the Twitter accounts of antisemites who have denied the Holocaust.
