Newsmax hosted QAnon conspiracy theorist who blamed law enforcement for all violence during the Capitol insurrection

On the January 7 edition of Newsmax’s Stinchfield, host Grant Stinchfield brought QAnon conspiracy theorist DeAnna Lorraine on his program. Lorraine, who till December had been hosting a show on Infowars, has a long record of promoting outlandish conspiracy theories, including speculation that Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates is an alien.

During her appearance on Newsmax prime time, Lorraine called the insurrectionists who stormed the U.S. Capitol “patriots” who were fighting a “foreign, hostile takeover” of the country. She went on to claim that all violence at the Capitol was caused by law enforcement against the rioters.

DEANNA LORRAINE (HOST, TAKING AMERICA BACK): I was on the steps of the Capitol yesterday and I will tell you one thing, I have never been more disgusted. I have never been more ashamed at our party, at the GOP, than what I saw yesterday and our display of sickening speeches from Mitch McConnell to even Vice President Pence and to all of these other people that totally threw patriots under the bus and totally threw President Trump under the bus, who they have rode their coattails for the last four years to try to get their fame. And now they are so quick to throw everything that we have stood for down the toilet. And the people that I'm so proud of are the people that went to the Capitol yesterday because we needed to do this. We needed to show them that we care, that our Constitution matters, that our America, our country matters. This is a foreign, hostile takeover and you know it, I know it. And it is time that we step up and that we fight. 

Yesterday, we told the truth. We were there at the Capitol, we were peaceful protesting. The violence was only coming from the police towards us who were there. And yet they're spinning this disgusting narrative that we are at fault or that Trump is at fault and this was domestic terrorism. No it wasn't. It was us fighting for our country. And we have never, ever been more at risk of losing our country. 

GRANT STINCHFIELD (HOST): Well, there were certainly people that went on in there. DeAnna, there were certainly people that went on in there. And I don't want the tens of thousands of people that showed up to be overshadowed by a couple hundred that stormed into the Capitol. It was a disgrace, of course. But you had tens of thousands of people that want their voices heard. 

Stinchfield previously defended the QAnon conspiracy theory by blatantly mischaracterizing it.
