CARL HIGBIE (HOST): Here's why the left is freaking out right now, though. There are currently a ton of congressional districts in this country that have been drawn to accommodate racial quotas in favor of Black people. Under section two of the 1965 law. We were, you know, the civil rights time - we've kind of passed that now.

But here's the crux of the issue. According to Pew Research, 83% of Black voters associate with the Democrat Party, while only 12% line up with the GOP. Overturning this section of the law could redraw congressional districts to be more evenly shaped geographically than demographically the way it should be. But without this hand-select districting, Democrats stand to lose 19 congressional seats in the midterm elections, by the way, including the elimination of half the Congressional Black Caucus seats, which, by the way, once blocked a Black Republican member from joining. But that is why they are fighting this so hard. It's not that Democrats care about Black people. They don't. It's -- they don't care about anybody -- it's that they have identified a group and can claim that they are victims, exploit that victimhood to then gerrymander congressional seats all around them, and then use them to elect more Democrats. That's all.
