SYMONE SANDERS (CO-HOST): I was yelling about this earlier, Mr. Chairman, but I just think, you know, the Bank of America CEO in December said that the market will punish people if we don't have an independent fed, okay? Well, literally Jerome Powell got on a camera to put it out to the world yesterday. And I would argue he's been saying what he's been saying for the last year and a half, almost about a year and some change. Everywhere he's gone, he's been like, he's trying to punish us. I will not go. And the markets didn't punish anybody. And so, I'm wondering if they're just accepting what's going on, y'all, and that it's baked in for them? You know, like Trump's gonna Trump and he's been Trump and we've been all right? Like, what is happening?

MICHAEL STEELE (CO-HOST): No, I was going to say, to put a little extra love on that point, is they've already showed they're comfortable with Trump. So in many respects, I think they've kind of baked in that relationship and they kind of get a feel for it. They're like, you know what, we can let this ride. We don't need to react or overreact.

ANGELO CARUSONE (MEDIA MATTERS PRESIDENT): I think that's right. And I would look at how they react is sort of in two dimensions. One is publicly and in the market and the actual numbers itself, right? And I think that's largely baked in. But then the other is what's happening on the phones and the text messages, because it does feel like they are reacting. Here's my tell. My tell is that people like Maria Bartiromo, who is one of the biggest Trump staunch supporters out there, is not with him on this. And she's making that point. Oh, the markets aren't, you know, I hear whispers, the markets are not going to like this. Stuart Varney, another huge Trump supporter on Fox Business. The markets are not going to like this. They're channeling what the people in the industry are telling them behind the scenes, which is that this is bad, if it goes further, there's probably going to be economic fallout.
