Responding to Trump's racist post depicting Obamas as apes, Salem's Mike Gallagher lashes out at the “Truth Social team”

Gallagher: “Would you would you stop with the dumb, unforced errors? For crying out loud, the guy's got enough on his plate, and we're dealing with enough challenges.”

As NBC News reported:

Lawmakers from both sides of the aisle sharply denounced Trump this morning after he shared a video on Truth Social last night that included a clip depicting former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama as monkeys.

Only a few Republicans criticized the president, while many Democrats rebuked him, as well as other GOP colleagues for not speaking out.

MIKE GALLAGHER (HOST): Somebody emailed me and said are you going to address the controversy about Trump on Truth Social posting images of Michelle and Barack Obama as monkeys? And it hasn't really been widely covered, and I don't want to give it a lot of oxygen, but I'm happy to respond because apparently it did happen. It wasn't an attempt to, you know, it wasn't focused on Michelle and Barack Obama. There was a video depicting him as the king of the jungle. And then they they were showing different creatures in the jungle, and there was a brief image of Michelle and Barack Obama as monkeys.

Look. There's only one word that anyone should use to react to that, and that is stupid. Stupid, unforced error, ridiculous. I don't think for one minute President Trump intended to portray Michelle or Barack Obama as monkeys. If anybody was dumb enough on the Truth Social team not to recognize what that would do in terms of — and how what kind of reaction that would receive, give me a — stop it.

Would you would you stop with the dumb, unforced errors? For crying out loud, the guy's got enough on his plate, and we're dealing with enough challenges.
