CALLER: I was just thinking, you know, I'm starting to see Trump more and more like a carnival barker. He has a tendency to start things. He never really wraps anything up.
And by that, I just mean, like, he keeps claiming he may pull the Insurrection Act on this community, and the whole time the American people are saying use the Insurrection Act, give ICE some backup, you know, put their troops in there with them. I don't care if they're full military or if they're just National Guard. Give these guys some backup and let's clean up these communities and just do it. Quit talking about it and do it.
And then it's something I had told your screen caller. I'm a small-time donor. You send $25 in, you're hooked for life with these clowns.
EMILY JASHINSKY (HOST): Yeah.
CALLER: The GOP is feckless, you know, that our senators are pathetic, even our House struggles to get anything accomplished for the people.
But here's my complaint. You know, I get campaign requests all the time or donation requests all the time through text messaging. And here's something that kind of bothers me. I'm constantly getting fundraising tricks, that's why I call him a carnival barker, for one reason. I constantly get these messages that say, how would you like your $2,000 tariff check? And I've gotten these for months and I mean, a couple of dozen a month, and I've gotten the same thing on DOGE, you know, how would you like your $5,000 DOGE check? And what it does, it leads into these WinRed donations.
To me, that's just, it's kind of like false advertising thing. You know, you tell your kids, well, you might get a $2,000 check and, you know, here it was last Christmas. And there's a lot of, you know, even in the Midwest here in farming communities where I live, there's there's a lot of people that aren't doing really well and the $2,000 check would be very handy around the Christmas time, and that was something Trump talked about and that just kind of went away when the Republicans said, no, we don't support that. And you can't spend your tariff money before the decision made by the Supreme Court.
So again, it was a promise he made, a promise he didn't keep. People like myself are getting tired of these messages.
And, you know, if you buy one of the Trump coins, and this is a true story, I bought one, I got two and got billed for two. OK, that's fine. You can't contact them back and expect them to take it back. It just don't happen. They don't answer the phone. So, the point is, you know, there's so many little things that this guy does that I just see it as a carnival character, a carnival barking character. I'll guess your weight and you do this and I'll take your money and I'll get pretty close.
