The Electoral College votes today, but Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo is still pushing conspiracy theories to “stop and overturn this election”

Bartiromo claims that “an intelligence source” told her, “President Trump did in fact win”

The members of the Electoral College are set to meet today across all 50 states and the District of Columbia to formalize the victory of President-elect Joe Biden in last month’s election. But for Fox News anchor Maria Bartiromo, the fight is still on, and she’s insisting that President Donald Trump really won.

“Challenging election results, as we await today’s Electoral College decision, an intel source telling me that President Trump did in fact win the election,” Bartiromo said this morning, to begin a discussion block on her Fox Business show.

Bartiromo also brought on Alan Dershowitz to discuss last Friday’s rejection by the Supreme Court of the Texas lawsuit against four swing states won by Biden. During the interview, Bartiromo reiterated her claims about an intelligence source.

“Following that rejection of the Texas lawsuit, the president still maintains that the race is not over,” she said. “And I spoke with one source high up in the intel community, and he said this, Alan, he said, ‘Trump did win. There was election fraud, but to prove it requires the FBI and the DOJ to drill down on all of the election fraud issues related to voter and ballot issues. They're not doing it because the wrong people run the place, and they didn't want Trump to win. Now they've run out the clock with the Electoral College here.’”

During a later discussion with House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), Bartiromo reiterated her claim that an “intelligence source” had told her, “Look, Maria, President Trump did in fact win, but there was so much election fraud.” She then asked McCarthy about possible efforts by congressional Republicans to reject the election result when Congress meets on January 6.

“What’s your take on where we are,” Bartiromo asked. “Is it the end of the line for the president's campaign to stop and overturn this election, as the Electoral College will meet, or are you looking at January 6 as a pivotal date, or what?”

McCarthy responded that “I support the president making sure his 74 million votes — that people are able to trust this process,” but then largely changed the subject to a House race in Iowa that is being disputed by the Democratic candidate over that election’s 6-vote margin, with McCarthy accusing House Democrats of planning to steal that seat.

“They’re also trying to steal a seat in New York,” the Fox Business anchor added.

Bartiromo has been a major promoter of Trump’s lies about the election, using her business news show to push debunked conspiracy theories and baseless legal challenges.

With all states having certified their election results, Biden won the national popular vote with approximately 81 million votes to Trump’s 74 million votes — and an Electoral College margin of 306 to 232.
