Dr. Laura's Well-Timed Bullying Advice

You have to love the timing of this one.

On the same day that Dr. Laura Schlessinger came under fire for a tirade against an African-American caller on her radio program that included several uses of the “N” word -- and her telling the woman who married a white man that she might be too hypersensitive to marry out of her race -- she blogged about the evils of bullying.

On her Newsmax.com blog Thursday, Dr. Laura took up the issue of school districts doing more to police bullies, claiming it is up to parents to teach their kids:

Kids see the constant squabbling on TV news, between their parents, in the neighborhood, on radio, meanness on the Internet (does anybody post kind things anymore?)...and on and on.

Where exactly are children supposed to learn to be nice?

Policing is the last resort when there is no framework in a society for teaching and reinforcing decent behavior.

Our children have become arrogant because they are largely on their own without parental leadership, guidance, and attention.

The adults have abandoned their responsibilities to the next generations because of their determination to sacrifice nothing and fulfill every desire in spite of their obligations. I hear this every day on my program and it makes me sad.

But who is going to teach her?
