The Murdochs and Fox must answer: Why hasn't the network fired Lara Logan?

After Logan likened Anthony Fauci to a Nazi doctor, her talent agency dropped her; she is reportedly scheduled to speak at an anti-vaccine rally. Meanwhile, Fox is silent.

Fox Nation host Lara Logan has been absent from the network for the past month and a half, ever since she compared Dr. Anthony Fauci, the president’s chief medical adviser, to the infamous Nazi war criminal Dr. Josef Mengele. But the network has yet to say if it has ended any association with her — while her public agitation against the COVID-19 vaccines is only getting worse.

Mediaite reported Monday that Logan has been dropped by talent agency UTA, with a company insider telling the site that Logan was dismissed by the company over her “highly offensive” and “unacceptable” comments.

The Daily Beast reported last week that Logan publicly acknowledged that she has been absent from the network. “Well, I don’t know at this point how that’s going to turn out,” Logan said, during an interview on a podcast with another right-wing media personality, Ivory Hecker. Logan also claimed that she had been paid through a production company for her Fox Nation show Lara Logan Has No Agenda, but was not on Fox’s payroll for her other appearances on the network.

Meanwhile, Washingtonian also reports that Logan is set to speak at an anti-mandate rally this Sunday on the National Mall, led by anti-vaccine activist Robert Kennedy Jr.’s organization Children’s Health Defense.

Another reason that Fox should have to say something is that the rally on Sunday will feature multiple other speakers who have been promoted by the network. For example, Kennedy appeared for a friendly interview with Fox prime-time host Tucker Carlson two months ago.

The speaker’s list also includes Dr. Robert Malone, who was recently kicked off Twitter for spreading misinformation and who has suggested that society’s leaders have “hypnotized” the public into taking the vaccines, and Dr. Pierre Kory, who has promoted the use of the antiparastic drug ivermectin as well as drugs used for transgender health care to treat COVID-19.

In addition, Fox’s regular programming has continued to spread misinformation about the COVID-19 vaccines, while calling vaccine mandates “segregation” and a “crime against humanity.” (Meanwhile, the network itself actually practices a strict corporate health regimen of vaccination, testing, and masking requirements within its own walls.)

Logan claimed during an appearance in late November on Fox News Primetime, “This is what people say to me, that he doesn't represent science to them. He represents Josef Mengele, Dr. Josef Mengele, the Nazi doctor who did experiments on Jews during the Second World War and in the concentration camps.”

In addition to drawing pushback from Fauci himself, Logan was publicly criticized by a Holocaust survivor and got into a fight on Twitter with the Auschwitz Museum. She also promoted even more false claims on her Twitter account, spreading claims that that AIDS is not linked to HIV at all and that research on HIV/AIDS drugs is an elaborate conspiracy to make money and cause additional suffering.

Lara Logan, in her former position as CBS News’ chief foreign correspondent, was a key cog in the massive journalistic failure that led to the retraction of her infamous 60 Minutes report on the 2012 Benghazi attack. Upon re-emerging in right-wing media, Logan chose to blame the entire calamity on what she suggested was a bad-faith effort by Media Matters.
