Right-wing media waste no time launching sexist and racist attacks against Kamala Harris during debate

Conservatives called the historic vice presidential candidate “vile," “bitchy,” “smug,” and a “clown”

Minutes after the October 7 vice presidential debate started, right-wing media figures and online extremists began attacking Democratic nominee Sen. Kamala Harris’ looks, body language, and behavior. Harris, the first Black woman and the first Indian American to serve on a major party’s presidential ticket in U.S. history, was quickly subjected to significant vitriol from conservatives, often connected explicitly to her race or gender. This behavior is nothing new; right-wing media figures began launching clearly racist and sexist attacks on Harris the moment she was nominated as presidential candidate Joe Biden’s running mate in August.
