Fox News anchor claims Trump has “great majority support” on immigration and deportations. Fox’s own polling says otherwise.

On the May 1 edition of Fox News’ America’s Newsroom, anchor Dana Perino falsely claimed President Donald Trump has “a great majority support” on “immigration, border security, and even deportations.” This contradicts Fox’s own polling released at the end of April, which showed that a majority of Americans disapprove of Trump’s overall job performance and he is underwater on immigration and deportations, specifically. (In his only positive category from the Fox poll, Trump has a 55% approval rating on border security.)

And Fox News’ poll isn’t the only survey to show Trump underwater on immigration: The New York Times/Siena poll from April 21-24 shows his net approval on immigration 4 points underwater, and the Washington Post-ABC News-Ipsos poll from April 18-22 similarly shows most Americans disapprove of Trump’s handling of immigration.

DANA PERINO (ANCHOR): And, if I could just add — when you are assessing the poll numbers of the first 100 days, it is the immigration, border security, and even deportations that has them still with great majority support.
