Google CEO to Keynote ASNE Conference

Google CEO Eric Schmidt will be the keynote speaker at the American Society of News Editors conference set for April 11-14 in Washington, D.C. This year's event is dubbed the NewsNow 2010 Ideas Summit.

“The conference themes are innovation, collaboration and leadership,” an ASNE announcement stated. “And the primary focus will be on providing editors with the tools they need to meet the challenges of electronic media.”

“If you're a newsroom leader who's looking for ideas and inspiration, NewsNow is the place for you,” David Boardman, executive editor of The Seattle Times and a convention co-chair said in a release. “You will learn from some of the smartest, most innovative people in our business -- especially in the digital realm -- and you'll leave charged up to help move professional journalism forward.”
