JAY GREEN (39 NEWS REPORTER): Conflicts overseas continue to rage on, leading to the further rise of gas prices across the country, causing many here in Jackson to wonder how they'll make it around the city. 39 News spoke to trucker Calvin Gray about how the gas prices are affecting his work.
PERSON 1: They are horrible. It's going to be real hard on trucking, construction businesses. The cost of diesel is outrageous.
GREEN: In addition to the truck drivers, many other drivers here in Jackson have shared how the prices have been affecting them. Olivia Willis says that she has to pay a big price to fill her car in a small amount of time.
PERSON 2: Horrible. I used to put $45 in my tank. It would last me a whole week, but here lately I've been having to put $62 in my tank every 4 days.
GREEN: Frieda Forsyth described the rise of gas as a quote "political plot."
PERSON 3: They're terrible. There, there's no reason for it, no rhyme for it. It's all a political plot. The government needs to take care of it. Trump needs to take care of it. It's a very easy fix.
GREEN: All of the drivers here in Jackson are wondering what this could mean for travel if the gas prices continue to increase.
