BUCK LANFORD (FOX 5 ATLANTA ANCHOR): Well, as the conflict with Iran continues, gas prices continue to climb across the country. The price is the highest that we've seen in four years, and you've probably already felt the impact on your wallet. Good Day's Lindsay Tuman is live in DeKalb County with the details. Not probably, you almost certainly have, Lindsay.
LINDSAY TUMAN (FOX 5 REPORTER): Yeah, if you're going anywhere Buck you certainly feel it. Across the nation, we’re seeing gas prices averaging about $4.39. Here in Georgia the average just a bit lower than that. It’s $3.80 at this gas station here behind me. $3.88. Every cent certainly matters. And folks we spoke to this morning say, yeah, they are feeling the pain of these high prices. When drivers hit the gas pumps Friday morning, some were surprised to see the price climb once again.
PERSON 1: Sometimes I'm in the house a couple of days, and I don't realize that the gas prices have gone up for — so a couple of days ago by, and then all of a sudden, I come out, and I'm like, woah. What's going on here?
...
PERSON 1: You just have to work smart and hard. So — as long as you, you know, everybody has gas prices that go up. So, you know, it doesn't do too much for me as far as I'm concerned. It's just the the cost of running your business.
TUMAN: Gas prices are the highest they've been since 2022, and in some states they're even setting records. Last month Governor Kemp signed a bill to eliminate the state gas tax for 60 days which has helped some here in Georgia. But it's still causing a headache for drivers. President Trump says the prices will drop.
...
TUMAN: Drivers here are hoping that will happen sooner rather than later.
...
TUMAN: Of course, just waiting when everything will wrap up and finally get these prices back down. A lot of eyes on that, of course, here at home and all around the world.
