Fox News and a Dominion voting machine

Judge rules that Fox News pushed lies about Dominion in 2020 election fraud case

Dominion’s case will now go to trial in April to determine if Fox acted with actual malice

On March 31, a Delaware judge denied Fox News and Fox Corp.’s motions for summary judgment to dismiss the defamation case brought against them by Dominion Voting Systems. The judge also granted in part Dominion Voting Systems’ summary judgment motion. The lawsuit alleges that the network knowingly spread lies about Dominion and purported interference in the 2020 presidential election on behalf of Joe Biden.

In this case, for Dominion to prove defamation, the company will need to show that Fox News published a false statement with actual malice that caused Dominion harm. This ruling established that Fox published false statements, with the presumption that the defamation caused Dominion harm. However, the issue of whether Fox acted with actual malice will still be decided at trial, which is set to begin next month.

There is a mountain of evidence showing that Fox News executives and employees knew they were pushing lies about Dominion and the 2020 election.
