Angelo Carusone: Explosive new court filings prove with “crystal clarity” Fox knew it was pushing falsehoods and conspiracy theories about Dominion

Media Matters President Angelo Carusone released the following statement in response to just released legal filings that contain explosive new evidence in a defamation suit brought by Dominion Voting Systems against Fox News:

“Evidence shown in these filings proves with crystal clarity what we’ve been saying all along about Fox News – the network knew it was pushing falsehoods and conspiracy theories about Dominion Voting Systems and yet, key players across the network continued spreading the ‘Big Lie’ and helped fuel the deadly January 6 insurrection.

“Fox News has been caught red handed. The network’s deliberate deception about Dominion and the election results helped build the scaffolding for the January 6 insurrection. At minimum, cable companies and advertisers need to reconsider their financial support of and business relationships with Fox News in light of this new damning evidence.”

Dominion’s brief calling for a summary judgment in its favor was released on February 16, 2023, and notes “literally dozens of people with editorial responsibility—from the top of the organization to the producers of specific shows to the hosts themselves—acted with actual malice.”

Examples of the damning quotes from the filing available here.
