Fox's Hunt: Federal judge who ordered release of torture scandal photos should be “drawn and quartered”

On the September 29 edition of Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor, Fox News military analyst Col. David Hunt called for U.S. district judge Alvin K. Hellerstein to be “drawn and quartered” for ordering the Defense Department to release additional photographs from the Abu Ghraib prison abuse scandal. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) had filed suit under the Freedom of Information Act to have the photographs released. Asked by host Bill O'Reilly whether he agreed with the judge's ruling, Hunt declared, “Absolutely not ... Hellerstein should be drawn and quartered ... That's [a] criminal act as far as I'm concerned. It is hurting our guys.” He added, “There's no excuse for putting these pictures back out on the set.”

In medieval England, drawing and quartering was an especially cruel and gruesome method of execution reserved for men convicted of treason. Women were, instead, burned at the stake.

O'Reilly previously called Hellerstein a “terror all[y]” for siding with the ACLU in this case.

From the September 29 edition of Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor:

O'REILLY: Do you think these pictures should be let out by Hellerstein?

HUNT: Absolutely not. No, there's no -- Hellerstein should be drawn and quartered. That man should not be -- that's criminal act, as far as I'm concerned. It's hurting our guys. There's no question. But you want this kind of stuff to stop. Hellerstein's got to go away, but we have to hold people accountable for what's happened [at Abu Ghraib]. There's no excuse for putting these pictures back out on the set, no way.
