Fox News will host a “Tea Party Zone” on Election Night

Fox News will again host its own tea party.

On November 2, the day of the midterm elections, Fox News' Fox Nation website will open its “Tea Party Zone” with “live video” and “live chat.” In April, News Corp. head Rupert Murdoch said that Fox News shouldn't be “supporting the Tea Party or any other party.” Yet Fox News has not only heavily promoted the tea party, it's also hosted a “virtual tea party” and dubbed the April 15, 2009, tea party rallies as “FNC Tax Day Tea Parties.” Fox News figures are also regular fixtures at tea party rallies.

Would a real news network host its own tea party? No. But Fox News has long disregarded any pretense of objectivity when it comes to the tea parties, with Fox Nation being one of the network's worst offenders. Lest you think this is merely limited to the “opinion” side of Fox News, purported reporters Bill Hemmer and “tea party groupie” Griff Jenkins have also been cheerleading for the tea party.
