Despite history of extreme rhetoric, Fox & Friends again turns to Scheuer for terrorism commentary

Fox & Friends hosted Michael Scheuer for two segments to comment on the attempted bombing in Times Square, during which he repeatedly attacked President Obama. Scheuer has a history of inflammatory comments, including his statement that "[t]he only chance we have as a country" is for Osama bin Laden to “detonate a major weapon.”

Scheuer's past record of inflammatory commentary doesn't keep him off Fox

“The only chance we have as a country right now is” for bin Laden to “detonate a major weapon” in U.S. In a June 30, 2009 appearance on Glenn Beck, Scheuer stated, “The only chance we have as a country right now is for Osama bin Laden to deploy and detonate a major weapon in the United States.” He added, “Only Osama can execute an attack which will force Americans to demand that their government protect them effectively, consistently, and with as much violence as necessary.”

“We're not killing enough people” in Afghanistan. In a February 7 appearance on Fox & Friends, Scheuer said that the capture of Taliban military commander Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar is not important “in the long run,” because “you win wars by killing people, not capturing people,” and commented that currently, “we're not killing enough people” in Afghanistan, “we're simply apologizing.”

Democratic administrations are “pro-terrorist”. During an August 31, 2009 appearance on The Live Desk, Scheuer said that the CIA had “grown pretty used to Democratic administrations” that are “in many senses, pro-terrorist.”

Obama “giving aid and comfort to the enemy.” In an August 28, 2009 appearance on Fox & Friends, Scheuer said that President Obama has “given aid and comfort to the enemy, both psychologically, and materially” by allowing the Justice Department to investigate CIA interrogators' past alleged use of torture.

Rahm Emanuel “wants” a terrorist attack. On the August 28, 2009, edition of Fox & Friends, Scheuer said “we're going to be attacked,” adding that White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel “wants an attack, he loves crisis.”

Scheuer uses May 4 Fox & Friends platform to add to list of extreme comments

America, NYPD, CIA will be “defeated until we get president who is willing to fight this war.” On Fox & Friends, Scheuer said that America, the CIA and the NYPD were “defeated” by the attempted Times Square bombing and will remain so “until we get a president who is willing to fight this war.”

Foiled terror attempt was “100 percent success” for terrorists “and the fault lies in the federal government.” Scheuer said on Fox & Friends that the attempted bombing was a “100 percent success” and that the attack worked “in every sense except for corpses” because “what this is gonna cost us” financially and with respect to civil liberties “is not significantly different than if there was corpses.” Scheuer further stated that “the fault lies in the federal government” for having “its head in the sand.”

Obama “bowed” to Saudi King, made things “worse” with Muslims. On Fox & Friends, Scheuer claimed that President Obama “has made things much, much worse because he promised the Muslim world things that he will never do” and “bowed to the Saudi king,” showing “subservience.”

“The federal government really doesn't take this very seriously.” Scheuer also stated of the attempted bombing, “The New York Police Department, the Washington Police Department, are basically beaten in all directions. They work themselves to death, but the federal government really doesn't take this very seriously.” He continued, “Mr. Obama has ruled out the use of 'Islamist' and 'Islamic' and 'jihad' as if that's going to help the problem.”
