CHRIS BEDFORD (DAILY CALLER EDITOR-IN-CHIEF): Washington is -- there is so much stupid going on in Washington now, just in the last few days. And I would blame -- the politicians are doing what they do, and they're doing it pretty well. But the press is not doing a good job at all. So take, for example, Nancy Pelosi. She's got battles in her ranks, she's got practical rebellion she's dealing with. And then to keep the dogs at bay, an hour before a meeting with the president on infrastructure -- which a couple of years ago they would have agreed on -- she accused him essentially of a cover-up and he then -- by the way, this is called grand strategy. She is a master now in the press. So he uses the rose garden, which is one of the most potent tools a president has for symbolism. He goes out there and gives a speech blasting back and saying these negotiations were entered in bad faith. And that's called a temper tantrum. So what's the difference here? One person is trying to keep rebellion down, the other person is trying to push back on bad faith negotiations. Why is one a grand tactician and one's a temper tantrum? I think it's because the reporters support the Democrats.
SANDRA SMITH (CO-ANCHOR): But Chris, the Speaker of the House took to the microphone minutes before that and claimed with certainty that the president is engaged in a cover-up. How should the president have responded?
BEDFORD: I think he was right to have responded that way. I think -- and there was a little bit of a panic among the communications folks in the White House, because I don't think it was a temper tantrum. I think it was smart of the president to use the rose garden, to use the office of the president to push back on the Democrats and say this is wrong. And the press, you can see where they come down on based on who they thought was right to begin with. In November we knew that there were not going to be any infrastructure negotiations basically going on. We knew that as soon as the Democrats took the House, Democrats were going to stop the agenda.
