Outkick’s Clay Travis suggests “Jeffrey Epstein’s behavior would’ve actually been legal” in some jurisdictions because his victims were teenagers, “not 9 and 10-year old girls”

According to Travis, because Epstein “was engaged with 16, 17, 18-year old girls,” his “behavior would’ve actually been legal” in some states. Epstein’s victims were reportedly as young as 14.

On OutKick the Show, Fox News regular Clay Travis suggested that the actions of late sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein were legal in some states because he targeted “16, 17, 18-year old girls.” Epstein was a serial sexual abuser known for targeting and allegedly sex trafficking minors, including girls as young as 14, which is younger than the age of consent in any state.

Before dying in his cell in 2019, the Miami Herald found 80 women who said that Epstein had molested them from 2001 to 2006. In 2008, he pleaded guilty to soliciting prostitution from a minor after being accused of molesting a 14-year-old three years earlier. Prosecutors reportedly “knew” that Epstein had raped teenage girls, but cut a deal that allowed him to avoid more severe charges. Epstein died while awaiting trial for sex trafficking charges.

CLAY TRAVIS (HOST): Everything that I have seen, suggests that Epstein was preying on women that were of age in some states. I say that, every state has different laws as to what is the age of consent. And for instance, I believe I am correct, I promise you're not going to get fired for looking it up, I think the state of Alabama the age of consent is 16. There are a bunch of different states, some of them, we tend to say 18 is the age of minor, or majority in the country, and it is true to a certain extent. But there is actually, every individual state has its own age of consent law.

And so some states are 18, other states are 17. Some states are 16. I think some states might even be 15. My point on this is Jeffrey Epstein was engaged with 16, 17, 18-year old girls to the extent that they were underaged, not 9 and 10-year old girls. You guys are going to clip this and be like ‘Oh!' There's a difference. And the difference is in some states, Jeffrey Epstein's behavior would've actually been legal.
