Charlie Kirk calls comparisons between World War II and climate change “despicable”

Kirk: Environmental activism is “not really about the environment. It's about the political control that comes with it, ... using people's inherent love of the world.”

STUART VARNEY (HOST): I honestly thought that what Senator Warren had to say there was extraordinary stuff. Incredible, virtually. What do you say?

CHARLIE KIRK (TURNING POINT USA): Yeah, I mean, I think it's despicable. I think that comparing the sacrifice of the brave heroes that stormed the beach so valiantly with so much courage, comparing that to climate change, I mean, it's almost hard to put into words. And I think that if you actually look at the Democrat Party they're always looking for one crisis to the other. They look for a crisis that they can politicize, then they can get power because of that crisis Stuart. And it's too bad that right near this moment, that you just can't say you know what, let's not compare something to one of the greatest acts of valor in American and western civilization history.

VARNEY: Look, I think Senator Warren would have a point if we all do believe that 10 years from now, the Earth's existence is in peril. But I don't think many people do believe that, and I think what this amounts to is essentially a scare. What do you say?

KIRK: Yeah, exactly. And this is a trick that is used by many politicians but especially on the left right now. They always -- they look at something that can be widely misrepresented and misunderstood to try to get political power for themselves. This is nothing more than a way to try to take over massive sectors of the American economy. And they don't actually -- it's not really about the climate, it's not really about the environment. It's about the political control that comes with it. It's about getting the votes and using people's inherent love of the world and the planet and the environment to try to get themselves into power because of it.
