Another Breitbart Failure: BigGovernment's Mullah Omar “Exclusive” Crumbles

Back in May, Andrew Breitbart's BigGovernment website posted an “exclusive” story by Brad Thor claiming:

Through key intelligence sources in Afghanistan and Pakistan, I have just learned that reclusive Taliban leader and top Osama bin Laden ally, Mullah Omar has been taken into custody.

Heaping credibility on the story, the right-wing Jawa Report "confirmed" the story.

Well, much like Breitbart's attack on Shirley Sherrod that fell apart earlier this week, the Omar “exclusive” (not surprisingly) appears to have met a similar fate.

The blog Instaputz highlights a report from the Daily News' James Gordon Meek:

A reminder: check out today's New York Daily News, which reports that NATO blames Mullah Omar for the mortaring of civilians this week. Last month, Omar “instructed his commanders to capture and kill any Afghan supporting or working for coalition forces.”

The fact that Omar was roaming freely in June and coordinating attacks must be an awful shock to readers of Breitbart's Big Government.
