BEN SHAPIRO (HOST): One of the great untold stories about lynching, of course, is that there's racist lynching and there's a lot of non-racist lynching as well. Right? There were white people lynching other white people for various crimes.

...

So, is lynching a relic of the past? Why yes, it turns out that lynching is a relic of the past. People are not being hanged from trees on a regular basis. This is not a thing that is happening in the United States. I mean, if you want to make things that aren't happening a crime, I mean, I suppose I don't really care. If you're going to ask me, should it be a federal hate crime to lynch somebody? Sure, why not. Ok. But, the entire goal of the left here is, of course, to suggest that America remains a deeply racist country, the same country that lynched Emmett Till would lynch Black people today if they could get away with it. This is the elite mentality when it comes to this country. Everything can be shoehorned or pushed into the box of racism.
