As conspiracy theorist Alex Jones deals with cascading legal issues stemming from his defamation of the families of Sandy Hook massacre victims, he has found an ally in the Trump administration in the form of Ed Martin, who serves as the director of the Justice Department’s Weaponization Working Group.
According to Jones, Martin – who is now facing internal scrutiny following potential misconduct in his investigations – met with Jones in September for “three hours plus.” Martin also reportedly sent a letter requesting information from one of the plaintiffs in Jones’ defamation trials. On his show, Jones has repeatedly touted Martin as an insider source for potential legal actions by the administration, using his supposed conversations with Martin to preview indictments and other legal actions for his audience.
Jones has also repeatedly attacked Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, who “reportedly admonished” Martin for attempting to help Jones with his trials. Jones has called for Blanche to be removed and suggested his continued presence in the administration is “political suicide” for Trump.
