STEVE DOOCY (CO-HOST): University of California Berkeley's student government has approved a resolution to fund the migrant caravan headed to the southern border. The student group bill stating, quote, “The United States, fueled by corporate greed, has strategically intervened in Central American politics and warfare; thus strengthening the U.S. economy and further disregarding the livelihood of the citizens of these countries.” And so what they are doing is they are going to send them a check for $1,500 to a group that is out to help them. Here to weigh in is Campus Reform editor-in-chief, conservative commentator, and radio show host Lawrence Jones. Good morning to yo, Lawrence.

LAWRENCE JONES (CAMPUS REFORM): Thank you so much for having me.

DOOCY: OK, so U.C. Berkeley sent them a check for 1,500 bucks. You got a problem with this?

JONES: Yeah this is the principle of the matter. I don't care if it's just $1,500. They're aiding and abetting criminals on the border that want to come across our border illegally. And this just goes to show you that on the college campuses today that they believe that it's more compassionate to not obey American law. And it's not an isolated event. I mean, we've been reporting on this for a while at The Leadership Institute's Campus Reform. -- N.C. State, a professor just said, “Let them all in.” I mean this is an anti-immigration policy that says that we should just have open borders.

DOOCY: Right, well this is a student government group. They said we're going take $1,500 of our money, not taxpayer money. And we're going to give it to them. It shouldn't surprise anybody. California is a sanctuary state.

JONES: It's a sanctuary state. And on these college campuses they're already giving a lot of illegals in-state tuition, giving them scholarship, protecting DACA. I mean, they don't like ICE on the college campus. U.C. Berkeley has this anti-relationship with ICE where if you see ICE on campus, you're told to call the police on ICE. So again, this is the rhetoric that we're sending on the college campuses. It should concern most Americans. Even though it's not public funds, it just shows you where our college campuses are going, where they’re willing to send $1500. It's the principle of the matter.
