Fox's Jason Chaffetz denounced Democrats' “insatiable desire to investigate” Trump

While in Congress, Chaffetz was a leading figure in several of the GOP's Benghazi investigations

JASON CHAFFETZ (FOX NEWS CONTRIBUTOR): While they talk about being bipartisan and what Nancy Pelosi puts out a nice sound bite, are you kidding me? They're going to be an investigative machine. People like Adam Schiff are going to spend all day every day trying to pepper the White House to get documents, information, investigation here on a daily basis.

BILL HEMMER (CO-HOST): Here's the -- Jerry Nadler could be head of judiciary, Elijah Cummings could run oversight and government reform. Maxine Waters could run financial services and Schiff could run intel. Put those four together and what do you forecast for the next two years?

CHAFFETZ: A daily drumbeat of investigations and scandal. The -- part of the difference is the national media will be on their side. These will be on the front page of The New York Times and The Washington Post. When I was chairman and we were peppering the White House for information, you barely got page 17. But nevertheless, you have subpoenas that are out there. Remember, Republicans would issue subpoenas on a Republican White House and nothing would happen. I don't know what they think, the Democrats think is going to happen when they do this.

...

CHAFFETZ: They can't help themselves. Democrats have an insatiable desire to investigate him. They can't believe that Donald Trump's the president, they're going to go after everything from impeachment, to pharmaceuticals, to how is the president profiting from his hotel. And I think right at the top of their list is they want to get their hands on the president's tax returns.
