DANA LOESCH (NRA SPOKESPERSON): Just because someone is in a school does not mean that their criminal behavior should be excused because these people are creating victims, and those victims are not getting their justice. And there are victims who are not getting their justice because [Broward County Public Schools superintendent] Robert Runcie decided he wanted to pad his resume rather than do the right thing and stand up for students. And these people, this superintendent and this sheriff had the audacity to stand there on stage and look me in the eye and impugn the characters of millions of law abiding gun owners by saying that well you don’t stand for students. You literally didn’t stand for students, you sat down and looked the other way when crimes were being committed on your campus so you could get federal dollars and so you could brag and have a presser with [Broward County] Sheriff [Scott] Israel and get back pats from the Obama administration about falsely reducing the criminal rate when you just stopped reporting it. And all of this was, they were aware of it. This is how this murderer did not have a hard record, because of this program, because of this superintendent’s actions and because this sheriff decided to look the other way because it was politically expedient for him. Shame on them.
