CHRIS JANSING (HOST): There’s a new Quinnipiac poll out there that shows -- and I mean this is brutal for this president, his approval rating is at 36 percent. But behind that, are the numbers of who he's losing by big margins. He's losing whites without college degrees, white men, and independents. You do wonder if suddenly he's putting out an E.O. [executive order] on voter fraud if that's maybe a little something for his base.

EVAN SIEGFRIED: No, if you actually look at what the president has done since he took office, especially with regard to the Russia investigation, he's trying to set the narrative. He's trying to use the government to say or to confirm his conspiracy theories. “Oh, there were three million illegal voters.” No proof. Now he’s got this executive order, which is going to waste government time and money on something that really doesn't exist. “Oh, Obama wiretapped me.” Nope. [Former FBI Director James] Comey is apparently also fired because he wouldn't back the president up on this claim. There has to be somebody in the Republican Party who stands up and says, “Enough.” We are now talking about a dysfunctional presidency which trickles down and makes the rest of the country dysfunctional.
