Fox’s Tucker Carlson On Baton Rouge Shooting: Obama Has “Taken A Side And It's Not The Side Of Law Enforcement”

Carlson: “I'm Not Blaming The President ... For This Shooting,” But He Has “Endorsed Black Lives Matter”

BRIAN KILMEADE (CO-HOST): Once again we're going down the road of a police officer assassination. It was a setup.

TUCKER CARLSON: Of course it was. And in this one way President Obama was right, it wasn't just an attack on police officers, it was an attack our the system itself, on the rule of law, on the justice system and it's a threat to our civilization for that reason. I mean, there are a lot of police shootings, and you know, people tussle with cops, a gun goes off, police officers killed, it’s a murder, its terrible. But its not necessarily an attack on the American system itself. This is.

AINSLEY EARHARDT (CO-HOST): Our president is saying that he doesn't know the motive and he's calling for calm here at the convention. Do you blame the administration for these types of attacks?

CARLSON: Look, I mean, he doesn't know the motive. Okay. Is there a single person out of 320 million people in the country, other than the president, who can't kind of guess the motive? This is of a piece of the Dallas shooting. You can sort of see where this is going. You can see the stew out of which this guy came. He’s got all kinds of radical, anti-white statements on the internet, apparently he is a member of the Nation of Islam. You sort of get it. This reminds me very much of the president's statement after Dallas, after the shooter gave his motives explicitly. I'm not clear why he did it. Maybe its global warning.

[…]

KILMEADE: The president also got his head handed to him a little bit and reacted angrily at his forum, when a deputy sheriff and a lieutenant governor got up and said, Mr. President, with all due respect, watch your words. Your words matter, it’s making things worse. And he said, you know I always back law enforcement. Do you think he doesn't realize how his message is being interpreted?

CARLSON: The president, the attorney general of the United States, the Democratic presumptive nominee for president, have all three endorsed Black Lives Matter, OK? So they're taking a really clear stand for this group against the police, not just a specific police department or a specific cop, but all police. Accusing all police of racism. Now I'm not blaming the president or any of those people for this shooting. But clearly they've taken a side and it's not the side of law enforcement, period.
